Every year, special events are organized for Pink October. This national event raises awareness and educates the general public about breast cancer, its prevention and treatment. Solidarity races, sports or creative workshops, monuments lit up in pink: throughout the month, associations and research organizations are stepping up their events.
This disease and those affected by it can also become a source of inspiration for artists, who seek to give a voice to sufferers. French painter Le Bé wanted to make her contribution to this edifice of health and solidarity.
Le Bé sails Résonances, an exhibition presented at the Thuillier gallery, from September 29 to October 12, 2023. For the occasion, the artist has created a series of 14 never-before-seen paintings. The exhibition features patients - men and women - from the Gaïa 17 program, which works to rehabilitate patients after breast cancer.
Le Bé wanted to establish a dialogue between art and patients: these paintings tell their stories, their emotions, the sensations experienced and suffered during their illness. These life stories come through in the colors, materials and sensations that emerge from the canvases.
The aim of this project is to help patients make their voices heard, to share their stories. With this exhibition, the artist aims to convey a positive message, where healing and acceptance of this ordeal are at the heart of the experience. A positive vision, full ofhope for those touched by the disease, near and far.
Don't miss this touching exhibition, available free of charge at Galerie Thuillier.
