Passionate about contemporary art and emerging young talent? Reiffers Art Initiatives invites you to discover its new exhibition "who is afraid of red blue and yellow?", an exceptional artistic experience featuring artists Ugo Rondinone and Tarek Lakhrissi, from October 16 to December 1, 2024.
On the occasion of the Reiffers Art Initiatives 2024 Mentorship, Ugo Rondinone and Tarek Lakhrissi have transformed the spaces of Reiffers Art Initiatives into a total work of art. The "who is afraid of red blue and yellow?" exhibition is an immersive journey through color, imbued with the two artists' passion for poetry. This initiatory journey takes the public through different atmospheres, each exploring in its own way language (oral, written or visual) and its ability to connect us to our bodies, to others, to the world and to the universe.
Each year, Reiffers Art Initiatives invites a major figure in contemporary art to become a mentor to an emerging artist on the French scene.
This year's mentor is Ugo Rondinone, a leading figure in contemporary art. He succeeds Rashid Johnson (2021), Kehinde Wiley (2022) and Lorna Simpson (2023). The Swiss artist's polymorphous works (painting, sculpture, performance, installation) blend pathos and humor, inviting reflection on the human condition and the most pressing questions of our time.
Tarek Lakhrissi is the young artist Ugo Rondinone has chosen to support as part of its mentoring program. A visual artist and poet, he develops his practice around different media such as writing, performance, video and sculpture. Exploring poetry, popular culture and affects, Tarek Lakhrissi's work redefines an emancipating imagination and anticipates an equally emancipating future.
Come and explore this spectacular exhibition, celebrating the meeting of two poetic visions, and let yourself be transported into the world of color!
