Les Médiévales et fantastiques du Vexin 2024 at Avernes in Val d'Oise (95)

Do you like medieval festivals? Head for the Médiévales et Fantastiques du Vexin 2024 this weekend, Saturday October 5 and Sunday October 6, in Avernes, Val-d'Oise. This not-to-be-missed event features knights' tournaments, fire shows and concerts, in the heart of a reconstructed medieval village.

For two days, the Médiévales et Fantastiques du Vexin invites us to plunge into the fascinating world of the Middle Ages at Avernes. The Val-d'Oise village will welcome young and old for a journey that's both historical and fantastic. From 10 a.m. onwards, the site opens up to us, unveiling knights' tournaments,fencing demonstrations and medieval concerts. A dozen associations and a score of traders await you in a period market, where you can discover local crafts. The program is packed with entertainment, including a grand fire show and a concert by the group Luscald, which will close the day on Saturday.

Throughout the weekend, you'll be able to watch impressive tournaments as knights battle it out on the lice. Fighting begins at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday and continues in the afternoon, from 2 to 4 p.m., before giving way to free duels and fun fencing initiations for the very young. On Sunday, the festivities continue with touch fights and new fencing demonstrations. Visitors can also take part in troll ball, a medieval game that combines strategy and agility.

Les Médiévales du Vexin is more than just a journey into the past. They combine fantasy and history to offer an immersive and unforgettable experience. The medieval village setting, costumes and entertainment all contribute to this unique atmosphere, where you feel transported to another time. For fans of visual entertainment, the juggling and fire-eating demonstration on Saturday evening after the concert is a highlight not to be missed.
