Macaroons, flans, tarts... but in a vegetable version! This is what VG Pâtisserie offers, revisiting the classics of traditional French pastry without milk or eggs, and it is worth the detour!

On Boulevard Voltaire, you'll find Paris's first vegan patisserie, an address not to be missed by vegans and gourmands alike. Just because it's vegan doesn't mean it's any less tasty - on the contrary! At VG Pâtisserie, chef Bérénice Leconte offers tasty croissants, macaroons, flans and other typically French pastries made without animal ingredients, using exacting techniques that have been worked on for years to produce results similar to those of traditional cakes.

Many vegans, lactose or egg intolerants had given up on the idea of being able to enjoy these incredible pastries. But in a small miracle, it's now possible! Here, even the cabbages are plant-based, thanks to the talented chef at VG Pâtisserie, whose recipe can be found in her book"Mon petit chou vegan". With so many cakes on offer, it's hard to choose between the lemon-ginger tartelette, the Trianon (chocolate and praline), the Limba (lemon and pineapple), the Arabella (figs and cardamom) or the coco-mint-passion baba...

For our part, we opted for a delicate blackberry-violet macaron, very light and airy on the palate, particularly tasty thanks to its floral and fruity taste.

It was hard to decide between the hazelnut cake and the marble cake, but the latter, with its vanilla-chocolate flavor, won the day. An excellent choice, the cake's thickness taking nothing away from its softness. The Trianon, with its dark chocolate, attracts by its neat appearance. A little fatter than the rest, it's nonetheless very good.

All this at a very affordable price, which doesn't really change from traditional pastries, from a croissant at 1.15€ to a Trianon at 5.50€. You can order them to arrive directly at your home, or come and taste them in the welcoming tearoom. With local suppliers, organic raw materials and reduced waste, VG Pâtisserie delivers on its promise to respect the living, from A to Z! So, shall we give it a try?
