Looking for a sweet or savory vegan twist? Head for the Ground to Grow restaurant and coffee shop, in the heart of the Marais district! Here, everything is dedicated to well-being, both on the plate and in the body, for a real detox in a soothing atmosphere. You'll discover a varied, healthy menu that gives vegan food a whole new perspective, with its beautiful colors and pleasant textures. And what makes this little haven of peace so original are its yoga classes in a bright, calm room!
Settled in the restaurant's main room, with a view of the temptingpastries on the à la carte menu, we enjoy a few hours' respite from the hustle and bustle of Paris. In this pleasant, intimate little cocoon, the adorable Hélène serves up healthy cuisine that's good for both the mind and the stomach. You can come and settle in for brunch, tea time or just a meal, between pastries, pancakes, savory toasts and buddha bowls.
Ground to Grow is, in a way, the epitome of gourmet veganism, giving a new lease of life to plant-based foods and breaking with stereotypes. It's hard to decide what to eat, so appetizing and well-presented is everything. We opted for a sweet snack, and tried a few pastries and a plate of pancakes that would make Parisian palaces blush, accompanied by unusual lattes.
It's worth noting that, even if you eat a striking quantity of food, there's no feeling of heavinessin the stomach at the end of the meal, which is very pleasant. The food is carefully selected for its properties and naturalness, and you can feel it. Let's move on to what interests you most: pastries! Slightly sweet, the chocolate marble with tonka bean leaves a pronounced taste of dark chocolate in the mouth, but without bitterness, so it will appeal to all cocoa lovers, without exception!
As for the superb strawberry/rhubarb layer cake, dressed all in pink, it offers a different kind of texture, much fluffier, with a pronounced strawberry flavor. The famous gluten-free pancake plate is beautifully accompanied by fresh fruit, flowers, maple syrup and granola. Well-stocked and hearty, it's as much a feast for the eyes as for the taste buds!
To go with this delicious mix of flavors, we move on to the latte bar and its vegetable milks, with a rose & cardamom latte, velvety and very fragrant with flowers, as well as a banana bread latte, between chicory, banana and vanilla milk, perfectly sweet and soft on the palate. A resolutely perfect marriage with all the sweets on offer! Cookie, banana cake and carrot cake are also available, giving you even more choice. As for beverages, you'll find both hot and cold, with tea, coffee, juice and sparkling beverages, some with original ingredients.
Behind the dining room, you step through the door into a space reserved for yoga in all its forms, with lockers, a shower and everything you need to pamper yourself after your class. For once, these classes don't take place underground, in the little Parisian caves, but in a large, beautiful room, under a glass roof that lets in the sunshine. We particularly appreciate the old stone wall, which gives the place a very warm and welcoming feel, perfect for decompressing, taking a break and pampering yourself, far from the hustle and bustle of Paris!
At Ground to Grow, you can practice your favorite discipline or discover for the first time the benefits of this gentle, multi-practice sport. Vinyasa, Asthanga, Hatha or Pilates are all offered by different teachers, so you can find the yoga that's right for you and your Parisian lifestyle. You can choose between introductory offers, subscriptions or single classes costing 25 euros, depending on whether you practice regularly or not.
