February 1927. Peruvian poet César Vallejo lives in Paris, at theHotel La Dépendance. When he met his future wife Georgette a stone's throw from the hotel at 20 rue Molière, legend has it that he offered her a cup of coffee on the occasion of this first meeting.
It's in homage to this love story thatLa Dépendance hotel is preparing to inaugurate its new coffee shop on the first floor this autumn, soberly named César y Georgette. A literary place where César's words and Georgette's notes live on, through a menu that celebrates this mad love between Paris and Peru.
To mark the occasion, the29-room hotel above, owned by the same group (Machefert, also owners of 1K, Normandy Le Chantier, Rehab bar, Mezcaleria, El Vecino, Buckwheat and Ice Bar) will also be renamed and transformed.
Just a stone's throw from the Musée du Louvre, this new café will plunge the curious into the 1920s, through a blend of two cultures, as with this black and white tiled floor, warmed by furniture in rosy and terracotta colors. Of course, works by César Vallejo will also be available for on-site consultation, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in his poems.
Whether you're looking for a break, a place to telework or a late-night drink, César y Georgette promises to be a discreet, timeless place to discover this fall.
