While the coming months are shaping up to be busy ones on Rue du Nil, chef Greg Marchand 's stronghold for his Michelin-starred restaurant Frenchie, his wine bar and, very soon, his Italian restaurant, which will open in place of the now-defunct FTG, Frenchie Pigalle is reminding gourmands of its existence, and more particularly of its brunch.
Head to the first floor of the Grand Pigalle Hôtel to discover this brunch, offered on Sundays from 12pm to 3pm for €35, which has all the makings of a traditional continental breakfast. At this price, Frenchie Pigalle offers a full brunch, served at the table.
Drinks include a choice of hot beverage ( latte is one of them, and that's nice), a choice of fresh fruit juice (orange, apple or tomato) and a welcome cocktail (Bloody Mary or mimosa). Breakfast essentials include Thierry Breton bread with butter and jam, viennoiseries, muesli and yoghurt, charcuterie and fine cheeses, and freshly cut fruit.
This is rounded off by a choice of either a sunday roast, which changes from week to week, or an egg-based dish, with a choice of avocado toast and poached egg, eggs Benedict, eggs Royale or eggs Florentine.
All in all, a fairly classic brunch, but rather hearty for the price!
