Are you a fan of Korean cuisine and love brunch? Why choose between one or the other? Keopi is the name of the 2-storey Korean restaurant that has opened in Passage Verdeau in the 9th arrondissement of Paris. After telling you about the first Japanese brunch, also hidden in a passageway, we're back with another exotic and unusual version, the Korean brunch.
Keopi is a spacious restaurant on two levels, installed in place of Holy, which closed its doors as a result. Note that the first floor is mainly open at weekends and for large groups. So head to one of Paris's most beautiful passages to settle down from 10am to 7pm in this new gourmet spot.
Forget late-night dining, as this is not possible. That said, like a coffee shop, the place is open all day long. So it's ideal for late risers, staggered meals or those craving pancakes and waffles for a snack. Equipped with wifi, it's also an ideal spot to work, with a good homemade hot chocolate or original latté in hand.
With its creamy tones, wood and rattan seating and hanging lanterns, the place is welcoming and cosy, a bit of a Japanese brown, let's face it. As for the menu, it's both accessible and affordable, with a wide range of dishes to discover. While Bibimbaps fans will find what they're looking for on the spot, the restaurant focuses more on its revisited brunch specialties.
At Kéopi, you'll discover dishes like Spam Sticks, fried with a homemade sauce, the Korean version of Scotch Egg with surprising flavors and a secret marinade, and the Fried Chicken Bibimbap, which mixes rice and chicken in a sweet & spicy sauce. We love the ultra-generousEgg Toast with brioche and homemade sauce, and sloppy scrambled eggs. Our favorite is the Benedict Bulgogi, which combines Bulgogi beef and poached egg on a muffin. However, like us, you've got to love the sweet-savory combination!
The Fried Chicken Waffle, which combines a crispy waffle with Korean fried chicken, is really quite generous. Finally, theAvocado Kimchi Toast offers an unusual combination of homemade kimchi and avocado on country-style bread. To discover the à la carte menu, take a look at the Kéopi menu.
Expect to pay €6 for starters, €20 for the lunch menu, €6 to €15 for main courses and €9 to €12 for desserts and sweet dishes. Speaking of sweets, don't miss the pancakes you can order in advance, the crunchy Croffle, a cross between a waffle and a croissant, and the gourmet Honey Toast with fruit, honey and other specialties like matcha-vanilla.
And don't miss out on hot beverages such as Matcha or Sesame latte, or coffee and rose latte. For cold drinks, try the Iced Matcha Strawberry latte, the Sesame latte or the homemade lemonades.
In short, this is the place to go if you want to get off the beaten track, indulge in a most charming passageway and enjoy an affordable Korean-style brunch, available all week long! Note that at weekends, the menu is enriched with croissants revisited as a bonus.
