Sundays are sacred! To the delight of gourmets, when the weekend comes, Paris becomes the capital of bruncheurs, unveiling a host of concepts to tantalize our taste buds. From the most affordable deals to the most prestigious spots, the City of Light bends over backwards to whet our appetites! If you're looking for a chic address that lends itself to Sundays with the family, while offering a vast banquet to suit all tastes, then we invite you to 8tharrondissement to discover a gourmet stopover in a beautiful Parisian hotel.
TheHôtel du Collectionneur, with its sublime Art Deco architecture, now offers a kid-friendly brunch every Sunday from 12.30 to 3pm. Priced at €92 per person (€45 for 3 to 7 year olds, €85 for 7 to 12 year olds), this all-you-can-eat buffet is accompanied by a hot drink (coffee, tea or chocolate) and a juice (orange or grapefruit): a high-standard brunch to mark the occasion.
We cross the bar in a swirl of gold and turquoise to find ourselves in the restaurant's luminous setting. Here, you'll discover a designer setting, with soothing tones and a friendly atmosphere thanks to a friendly, attentive team. As you wander through the different areas, an all-you-can-eat buffet gradually reveals itself to you, offering a gourmet journey that whets your appetite as you discover the victuals.
Along the way, baskets overflowing with viennoiseries welcome you, before giving way to a parade of desserts. Cheese cakes, mango tarts, chocolate entremets and apple tarts greet sweet tooths. Around the bend, the bakery corner invites us to savor our toast the way we like it, from the very French baguette to rustic country bread, toast and cereal bread, with a toaster and a selection of Alain Millat jams.
Turning right, you'll find a salad bar with everything you need to compose your plate to your liking. Around it, you'll find flavors from the four corners of the globe, including steamed shrimp bites, modernized falafel, hummus, guacamole and assorted mezzés, as well as local delicacies such as pâté en croûte, foie gras toast, the inevitable mayo egg and a fine selection of cheeses. On the other side of an open kitchen, the hotel's executive chef, Filipe Assuncao, Meilleur Ouvrier de France, greets us and works with his team to concoct comforting dishes where guilty pleasures rub shoulders with exceptional delicacies.
To the sound of a crisp cut, we are sliced a slice of Koulibiac, a Russian specialty composed of different layers including salmon, spinach, pan-fried mushrooms and eggs, all wrapped in puff pastry and covered with a beurre blanc sauce. Meat lovers will be quick to spot the fine piece of roast beef, accompanied by a winegrower's sauce (with red wine) and sliced to order. Well basted, and the fruit of slow cooking, the meat reveals a melting texture, and the sauce, far from drowning it, brings out its flavors. A beautiful foie gras and beggar's fruit tart also invites us to enjoy this star dish of French cuisine in a more inventive way!
Purists can rest assured that scrambled eggs, a brunch staple, are also on the menu, with the added bonus of warm accompaniments including pan-fried vegetables and potatoes. On the other side of the kitchen, we find ourselves once again between land and sea, with an assortment of charcuterie and seafood, including fresh oysters, crab claws and salmon. From there, it's back to the restaurant's banquettes, with a final stop at the fruit bar, where you can mix and match the sweet and savoury dishes on your plate to your heart's content.
The offer is so vast that with each visit, we rediscover dishes that we hadn't spotted on previous occasions, and during our tasting, there was no room for doubt as to the freshness of the products and the homemade style. L'Hôtel du Collectionneur therefore deserves its place among the capital's exceptional brunches.
In addition to the extensive buffet, it also has another trump card up its sleeve: we promised you a family Sunday, which means that children are entitled to their own Petit Collectionneur brunch (for 7 to 12 year-olds). They can then enjoy a buffet more suited to their tastes, with savory dishes, fruit juices, as well as cakes, crêpes, brioches, croissants, chocolates and sweets. They have their own area where they can color, play with clay and enjoy other games and activities in the company of animators, so that children and parents alike can make the most of this gourmet break.
