It's in the discreet rue de la Forge Royale, a stone's throw from Square Louis Majorelle (one of Paris's dog-friendly parks, which is a good sign) that we head to discover Seven Heaven, a charming coffee shop with an unmistakable yellow front.
A former freelancer in communications, Anne-Sophie Lepage was keen to recapture the atmosphere of the Coffee Shops where she liked to spend time during her travels, notably in Bali, the United States and Australia. An avid coffee-lover, she wanted to rediscover these convivial places where you can work with your computer without limits (without getting thrown out...) and drink a good, accessible, consensual coffee. Only on weekends, open on short days, is it dedicated solely to brunch, without computers. It's time for a break.
At Seven Heaven Paris, dogs are totally welcome. Anne-Sophie herself owns a Golden Retriever she wanted to keep close to her, who is present in the café and keeps a watchful eye... So Dog Mum and Dog Dad are very welcome. And if you feel like spoiling your 4-legged friends, they can even have an à la carte Puppyccino. Unsweetened whipped cream and a little bone treat for the pooches.
The coffee shop is also open to families. Spaced-out tables, a special kids' brunch, coloring pages and a Babyccino made with milk and vanilla syrup await the children. The space is large enough to accommodate everyone.
On the sweet side, you'll find the creations of Rita from Beirut Bakery, a Levantine baker offering delicious cakes with a Mediterranean flavour. Proposals are subject to change, with the exception of the chocolate-pistachio Babka, which is very popular, the decadent chocolate-tahini brownie and the cookies with their changing tastes.
The coffee comes from Oven Heaven, a roaster in Bordeaux. Expresso, filter and decaffeinated coffees are on the menu. For lattes (chai, sesame or pink), the house works with La Main Noire. For matcha, it has chosen to work with Kodama. Passionate and committed partners for a beautiful final blend. Don't miss out on the Barista's creation, who will be delighted to serve you graphic art lattes or lattes that are just too crunchy.
Come to Seven Heaven for breakfast, served from 8.30am to 3.30pm. A savory menu is available from 11:00 am. You'll find Greek yoghurt with homemade granola and honey, a Bali Bowl with fresh fruit, chocolate-hazelnut, red fruit or pecan pancakes and eggs in all shapes and sizes.
Lunch options includeAvocado Toast with cauliflower and sesame seeds, Bao Bao Burger with shitake mushrooms, avocado, honey-roasted halloumi and grilled tofu, served with sweet potato fries, and Grilled Cheese with cheddar cheese. Note that the menu is essentially vegetarian, with vegan and gluten-free options. That said, crispy chicken, soft-boiled eggs and smoked salmon can be added as extras. The choice is yours. The combinations are well executed, and we love the sauces, the soft, crusty bread and the pickled vegetables.
In short, if you're looking for a moment to relax with your coffee, take a break with your dog, enjoy lunch or have a gourmet brunch, wouldn't it be a good time to head to Le 7e Ciel?
