All-you-can-eat brunch at the Mélodi in Versailles

As you'd expect, this restaurant owes its name to its founder, Mélodie, a gourmet enthusiast. Her hobby? To offer healthy, seasonal cuisine, to eat in or take away. It's the ideal spot for breakfast at 8am, a quick bite to eat at lunchtime, a snack on the go or to take your time in the evening.

Especially since its modern two-storey setting and beautiful terrace, ideal for sunny days, offer plenty of space not to step on each other's toes. White walls, light wood furniture and street-art paintings form the decor of this welcoming spot. And let's face it, there's not too much competition in the area, so you're in the clear.

On Sundays, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., brunch is served. Avoid going without a reservation, as you're likely to be disappointed. So make sure you book well in advance. Brunch costs €29 for adults and €15 for children.

Then, it's simple: the first thing you do is go to the counter to order your hot drink (as much as you like) from a wide range: lattes, cappuccinos, classic or Viennese hot chocolate and various teas are all on offer. Once you've placed your order, you're off to conquer the self-service brunch, before returning to collect your hot drink when you're ready to settle in.

We start with various breads accompanied by butter and jams, pancakes and crepes, croissants and pains au chocolat accompanied by cut fruit. Savoury fans add scrambled eggs with bacon or hot sausages.

Then it's on to savoury dishes ranging from croque-monsieurs, quiches, eggs mayonnaise, guacamole, eggplant confit, cheeses and charcuterie.

There's plenty of room for desserts, from fruit salad and rhubarb tart to cakes, chocolate mousse and fromage blanc. Accompanied by the fruit juices at hand, we're all set.
