Set near Saint-Philippe du Roule metro station, here’s the brand-new address for a lunch break: A’Plum, a canteen conceived as a little nest and super-healthy dishes elaborated by Akrame, starred chef from the restaurant of the same name in Madeleine.
Akrame is one of these young starred chef generation, such as Juan Arbelaez or Keisuke Kobayashi, that brings a new breath of fresh air on the French haute-gastronomie for the past couple years by daring and breaking the codes. The one who has been elected “Grand de Demain 2011” by Gault et Millau, is only 35 years old, and already at the helm of about a dozen places and has 2 Michelin stars. He owes his first star to his first restaurant, Akrame*, open in 2011, a concept he exports to Hong Kong in 2013. He is also at the helm of Atelier Vivanda meat bistros, also present across the world (Manilla, Hong Kong, Azerbaijan) and Cave Brvt around wine and cheese.
A’Plum is the latest born of the group. The décor designed by Maison Renard is nothing but nod at birds: green feathers earthenware, lamps imitating a turtledove nest until the grain solo so that you can nibble on varied grains. Everything is fresh, homemade and cooked the very morning. You have the choice between the soup of the day (€4.90), a vegetarian or animal quiche (€4.50) or vegetarian or animal salads (€6.20) and warm dishes that change regularly (€9).
The succulent desserts are selected by the Quatre’Homme. Let yourself go for the chef’s madeleines.
A very charming concept we would like to meet more in Paris, and already a superb success for Akrame.
