Sunny days are coming, as well as ice-creams! Like Magnum last year, Maison Carte d’Or launches its pop-up store. Then, from 5 May to 29 July 2017, you can treat yourself while discovering original and gourmet creations. Scooping ice-cream out of the container preserved in the freezer is ancient history, at Maison Carte d’Or, you can treat yourself with brilliant frozen pastries custom-made or made by Yannick Tranchant who is the pastry chef at the Neva Cuisine and Pastry chef of the year by Omnivore festival. A high gourmet level is waiting for our taste buds.
Located at 18 rue de Turenne in the 4th arrondissement, this pop-up store covers a 120 square-meter surface. The shop is elegant and design with simple lines and trendy colors. In short, a contemporary decor like a pastry jewelry store. As you walk into the shop, you are caught by the pastry bar unveiling ice-creams and toppings. Once you have your treat in hands, you should have a seat in the cozy and welcoming lounge area.
You can capture this gourmet moment in the photocall area and make your friends be green with envy on social networks.
Okay, this is amazing but what do we eat? Well, demanding guests will be able to create their own frozen treat. We start with a base, a macaroon in May, choux au craquelin in June and a meringue in July. Then, we choose a cream among wonderful recipes (vanilla, strawberry-lime, exotic, chocolate...). We add ice-cream of course, or sorbet to choose among over 6 flavors (vanilla, caramel and fleur de sel, dark chocolate, strawberry, mango or pistachio...). You top the whole thing with 2 toppings to choose among ten ingredients (grated coconut, apples, crunchy golden pearls, strawberry powder, rose petals, lime zest or caramelized black sesame...). You finish your creation with a hint of Carte d’Or gold power for the awe-inspiring effect (and also because it is the brand’s signature)!
But why choosing when a chef is here to make them for us? The choice is too large and you are lost? Let yourself be tempted by Yannick Tranchant’s creations:
In May, frozen macaroons:
In June, frozen choux au craquelin:
In July, frozen meringues:
That’s all very well but it is time for a frozen dessert!
