Gourmet people unite! You absolutely have to pay a visit to the Salon du Chocolat at Porte de Versailles from October 31 to November 4, 2018 to visit Jean-Luc Decluzeau’s chocolate house.
I’m not talking about a simple sculpture but a real 18-sqm cabin entirely made out of chocolate and almost habitable. Ordered by a major location booking website to Jean-Luc Decluzeau, this house required 1.5 ton of chocolate (and good chocolate, please), hours and hours of research and 4 months of construction.
We have been allowed to visit Jean-Luc Decluzeau’s chocolate house this early October 2018 on the occasion of its presentation to the Parisian public and it’s impressive. Chocolate really looks like wood and when you watch the door really closely, the remaining flaws offer a wonderful show.
Inside, closets, coffee table and knick-knacks are made of chocolate: candlestick, welcome board, the pastry chef thought about everything. He even set up a kitchen sink with faucets but forget the hole for the drainage pipe (he’s no handyman, we forgive the oversight!).
And the craziest is that two lucky Parisians have slept in this chocolate house set for two nights within Musée de Sceaux orangery. They only lack a kitchen, toilets and a shower (chocolate doesn’t enjoy water nor heat, everyone knows that).
For the Salon du Chocolat, Jean-Luc Decluzeau’s house will be filled with 15.000 chocolate marshmallows to be enjoyed in a delicious Barry Callebaut milk chocolate fountain.
The salon will be packed with good food!
