The young Rivka does not spare her efforts. While restaurants are obliged to close store at least until February 15, the young 26-year-old chef opens her restaurant Riv'K everyday, "to keep going and not lose her touch". She answers the phone and delivers herself, even to Kremlin Bicêtre!
Her restaurant attracts crowds, especially via social networks, where her French toast is called the best in Paris. And for good reason: regressive, generous, greedy, we can't help but devour the French toast with Nutella or caramel. This taste of revenge will surely make us put on a few pounds, but it's not serious. And while the classic sweet French to ast works, Rivka has come up with several savory French toast recipes, such as the Pesto, Mozzarella and Candied Tomato French toast or the Marinated Salmon, Philadelphia and Wasabi French toast, bagel style. Her French toast is making the rounds on the internet, and Rivka is even going to dedicate a tea room to them, which should open within the year.
But Riv'K doesn't only offer French toast, and claims an Israeli-Japanese cuisine. We were tempted by the polenta with grilled vegetables and zaatar (15 euros) and by its pita bread with poultry schnitzel, hummus and tahini (19 euros). Both dishes were tasty and comforting as the temperature was close to zero degrees. I especially liked the pita bread with poultry schnitzel, a delight.
Rivka also offers caramelized eggplant with spicy satay, topped with tofu and onion chips, which was praised by the critics. We also saw breaded burrata, which was sold out the day we came. This restaurant is really worth a try, at home or on the spot, we recommend you!
PS: during the first confinement, Rivka had revealed her recipe of home-made French toast, to try!
