Girotti, actor Terence Hill 's ice cream parlour, opened its doors on July 7, 2022, just outside the Notre-Dame-des-Champs metro station. It's at 120 rue Raspail in the 6th arrondissement that we plunge into this world where the unlikely alchemy between patisserie and cinema operates: screenings of traditional westerns with his sidekick Bud Spencer, film posters, reminding us of that joyous period of Italian spaghetti films, so it's in this atmosphere that we discover creamy ice creams with surprising, original flavors such as red bean and maple syrup or rum baba, a little more in the Italian tradition. With a choice of quality raw materials, the ice creams are 100% artisanal, gluten-free and preservative-free, and made in the Girotti workshop.
Together with his son Jess, Mario now offers take-away and on-the-spot tastings in the style of a tearoom. You can also sample pastries created by in-house chef Roberto Ferraro, or simply enjoy a coffee. Terence Hill fans can buy souvenirs such as mugs, puzzles and other games dedicated to the actor's films.
For the record, Mario used to spend a lot of time in his great-uncle's ice-cream store in Amelia, Umbria, but unfortunately no one took over the business after his death. It was in 2015, while out and about with his grandson, that he had the idea of reviving the gelateria, and in 2017 the first store opened, which is now being exported to us to our great delight, grazie mile!
