In the heart of the Galerie Véro-Dodat, a stone's throw from the Louvre and the Palais Royal, you'll discover a place where time seems to have stood still. Nestled between artisan boutiques and luxury stalls, Brasserie - salon de thé Le Vero-Dodat is a true hidden gem, open since 2023. This tearoom, which is also a restaurant and patisserie, invites you to enjoy a gourmet break from lunch to tea time, in a historic setting.
You'll immerse yourself in a period decor that's both preserved on the façade and contemporary-chic on the inside, where you'll savor reasoned French cuisine and high-flying pastries. Bertrand Cazenave, a former dancer and epicurean, has created a perfect harmony between tasty dishes, delicate desserts and the hushed atmosphere of this covered passageway. Chef Filipe Domingues, a Robuchon alumnus, offers a diverse lunch menu every day, featuring carefully selected products, whether game, fish or vegetarian options.
During our visit, we enjoyed the daily Roasted Leeks with Mimosa Cream and Sea Bream Ceviche as starters.
For the main course, the chef's suggestion of Bourguignon de Chevreuil (venison ) and Saucisse de sanglier à l'ail des ours ( wild boar sausage with wild garlic and sweet potato purée) were sure to delight fans of local cuisine.
Finally, we indulged in some of the house favourites: theOpéra, of course, and the generous, gourmet Baba au rhum, which we recommend.
In the afternoon, it's time for tapas and a selection of fine pastries, where exceptional ingredients such as Nicolas Berger's chocolate enhance traditional and original creations. For tea lovers, rare selections from the Nunshen house offer privileged tasting moments. And for those who prefer wine, a sommelier has carefully selected 17 references to accompany the dishes.
In terms of décor, the place doesn't disappoint. Designed by architect Régis Botta, the interior plays with contrasts, blending black marble, purplish-blue walls and a glass-roofed terrace with jade-green rattan chairs. Véro Dodat offers a unique gastronomic and aesthetic experience.
