How about eating a kebab in Paris? And there you go “no, it’s not good, it’s not healthy”. Well, it depends on the restaurant you choose. L’Improbab’ is the new counter in Paris 9th arrondissement that has everything to seduce kebab or Greek food enthusiasts, and even the unwilling ones.
Located a stone’s throw from Folies Bergère, Musée Grévin and Bam Karaoké, the place will please hungry people seeking on-the-go food.
Kebab or Greek food often rimes with junk food. L’Improbab’ has decided to restore its image by revisiting this classic. Good riddance to the spit that turns for hours and the industrial bread and dressings, L’Improbab’ bets on homemade dishes, fresh ingredients and on-order service.
Here, no frozen goods, only fresh products delivered daily. Everything is cooked on the spot and even dressings are home made. The bread, gluten-free please, is delivered every morning by the local Greek artisan baker. Allumette-cut deep fried potatoes are homemade with Agatha potatoes that give them this excellent sweet taste.
Moving on to recipes, they are cooked by a chef. L’Improbab bets on originality and offers you uncommon kebabs. For example, have a bite of Le Viet with veal, carrot and white radish pickles, its homemade mayonnaise seasoned with lime and pepper, its soy sauce pan-fried onions, the whole sprinkled with peanuts and cilantro. The meat is very tender, we love how fresh and sour pickles taste, the dressing is just perfect. A not at the banh mi which has found in this recipe a true opponent.
Are you more into Italian food? No problem, go for L’Italien, a kebab filled with marinated veal, mozzarella, red pesto based on sundried tomatoes, basil and pine nuts, the whole served with arugula, tomatoes and red onions. If you love pesto, it’s the perfect choice, it explodes in the mouth.
But vegetarian eaters are not left out either since a version with falafels await them. As its name suggests it, it’s called Le Végétarien and has falafels, yogurt with savora and hummus, red cabbage pickles, sucrine lettuce, tomato, red onion and mint and cilantro. Even the meat lovers we are fell for it.
You can also succumb to Classik with yogurt or Mexicain with guacamole. Other recipes are said to come soon such as L’Américain with cheese, it’s just a matter of time. Salads will also fill the menu. In terms of dessert, go for the cheesecake or the homemade tiramisus.
Speaking of prices, kebabs only cost about €7 to €8. Count €9.5 for a sandwich of your choice with homemade French fries and €12.5 if you want a dessert.
Well, how about a truly delicious kebab, friends?
