Nestled in the heart of the 14th arrondissement, rue du Château, bistrot le Layon delights the taste buds of gourmets with its fresh, local and international cuisine.

To create a contemporary bistro with a modern twist... This is the mission of Candyce Piotin and Phildera Diazabakana, the two creators of Le Layon bistro, located in the heart of the 14th arrondissement, a stone's throw from the Pernety metro station. Two enthusiasts driven by " the pleasures of the table ", they offer a cuisine of fine, traditional flavors, from here and elsewhere, in a modern, uncluttered decor with a few ethnic touches.

A lunchtime menu featuring a starter, main course and/or dessert, depending on the day's menu. For dinner, it's a completely different story: a three- or five-course menu (starter, main course and dessert, or starter, fish course, meat course, cheese and dessert) whose composition is unknown: no indication is given by the team, and gourmets are only asked to indicate any allergies... and to have blind faith in the chef.

The aim: to surprise guests while adapting to their requirements. It's a high-flying exercise that doesn't disappoint, just as the editorial team tried out this formula, and more particularly the "tasting" menu, which includes five dishes: red tuna tartare for starters; roasted lean, Jerusalem artichoke purée, roasted Jerusalem artichoke and roasted rutabaga for the fish course; pluma, roasted endives, pear compote and roasted pears for the meat course; comté cheese and guava purée for the cheese and a nectarine bourdaloue tart with peach sorbet for dessert.

Whether for starters, main courses or desserts, all the preparations are of a rare finesse and simple taste. Each dish is carefully accompanied by a glass of wine that perfectly balances the preparations, for a very pleasant tasting experience on the palate without weighing down the stomach (five preparations is a lot). A real discovery that's sure to attract more than one lover of good food.
