The divine child is born! Three years after opening Les Amoureuses, Alena Iampolskaia and her partner Benjamin Leroy give birth to their second child, next door to their first address, Les Amoureuses Bis.
If Les Amoureuses had found its way into the hearts of lovers of all kinds of fine bottles and small plates, this encore version should finish convincing the last of those in the know.
Still on the border of Place des Vosges and Place de la Bastille, this new address unveils a sober, intimate decor designed by ORO, with natural textures (wood, Domaine Prieuré Roch vines on the ceiling) and modern ones (raw metal).
The main feature of the wine bar is the large mahogany sharing table, where up to 16 gourmets can sit together. The layout of the room is just as conducive to end-of-table confidences as it is to discussions between friends from the same gang, and even between illustrious strangers. " Warmth, sharing and conviviality" are the watchwords of this address, announce the owners.
In the cellar and on the shelves, a selection of over 200 wines, carefully chosen by Alena Iampolskaia, from large estates to small vineyards, all from respected winemakers who themselves respect the land.
Over time, Les Amoureuses bis also intends to expand its range of foreign wines. But in the meantime, the red, white and even orange wines and bubbles already offered à la carte, by the bottle or by the glass, are sure to delight customers.
To accompany these good skittles, a locavore, seasonal and committed cuisine has been imagined by a Michelin-starred chef and is perfectly accomplished by the executive chef of Amoureuses Bis. Each of these small dishes, simple but not simplistic, has been designed to be savored with the fingertips while raising a glass to the lips.
From Tuesday to Saturday, 6pm to 1am, you can enjoy artichoke hearts (8€), delicious spicy tuna maki (17€), a naughty croque-pastrami and cheddar (12€), a generous slice of pâté en croûte (15€) with duck, shiitake, pistachios and foie gras, and even a beef tartare au couteau (14€) presented in sucrines for finger-licking.
At last, a wine bar that places as much emphasis on the quality of its bottles as it does on the quality of its small plates, which don't just look good - but pale - next to the beverages. And the prices aren't too shabby either: around €6-€8 for the picorages and €7-€19 for the larger plates. A toast to your heart's content!
