The little brother of Hanwoo Korean Barbecue, Hanwoo Korean Cafe & Bar is the place to tuck into Korean street-food classics: corn dogs, rabokki and bulgogi burgers. All washed down with cocktails and sojutails!

Korean cuisine has many facets and more than one trick up its sleeve to delight the palate. While Korean barbecues and stews are the comfort food par excellence, Korean street-food offers a multitude of small dishes to be eaten on the go, as you stroll down the street.

At Hanwoo, the team has chosen not to choose, opening not one but two restaurants: one dedicated to theart of barbecuing, the other designed to introduce Parisian palates to Korean street-food.

Street food is king at Hanwoo Korean Cafe & Bar, which opened next door to the first address just a stone's throw from Saint-Lazare station. The burgers here are tinged with Korean flavors, as the meats have the particularity of being worked in the style of bulgogi, the meat of Korean barbecues. Choice of beef, duck, chicken, spicy or non-spicy pork. They're plump and golden-brown (the bread is homemade), loaded with meat and available in a 16€ package that includes sweet potato fries and a drink.

Other must-tries are the Korean Fried Chicken (€14.50) and the corn dogs (€12 for three), a classic that's more American than Korean, but much eaten in the Land of Morning Calm: the famous frankfurter on a stick with (or without) stringy cheddar and wrapped in breadcrumbs.

At Hanwoo, the corn dog coating comes in a classic version (a sort of light doughnut dough ), a small diced potato version, and a ramyeon version, the noodles of ultra-crispy instant ramen.

Less street-food, but still available à la carte, are the rabokki soups (14€), the perfect cross between rameyon and tteokbokki, spiced up just right - the creamy version is less spicy. In any case, there's no better way to rinse your gullet than with a look at the cocktails (12€), sojutails (12€) and mocktails (9€), the other mainstay of the restaurant.

When we visited on a weekday lunch, the Jeju Island (passion fruit puree, mango puree, orange juice, pineapple juice) and Hanwoo (kiwi syrup, lime, sparkling water, brown sugar) mocktails perfectly fulfilled their role as thirst-quenching and exotic alcohol-free cocktails !
