A good number of restaurants have lost one or more stars this year. On March 31, the Michelin guide will unveil its 2025 list of stars, which is sure to please many chefs and pastry chefs, but the famous red guide has also stripped one or more macaroons from 45 establishments across France, including 6 in Paris and the Ile-de-France region.
Once again this year, restaurants have lost one or more stars due to the departure of a chef, a change of direction, a sale or simply the closure of the establishment. But nothing is ever set in stone, and it's a safe bet that other downgraded restaurants, which have lost a macaron due to a decline in the quality of their cuisine, will do everything in their power to win back this precious star.
The 2025 downgrades in Paris and Ile-de-France concern only 1-star establishments, with the exception of Maison Ruggeri, which had two stars. Although these establishments have not closed, they have been downgraded to a simple recommendation in the Michelin Guide.
Find out which restaurants have been downgraded by the Michelin Guide 2025 in Paris and the Ile-de-France region:
Chef Georges Blanc in Vonnas, Auvergne, has lost the third star he earned in 1981.
And for those that haven't closed for good, they'll have to fight even harder to regain their lost stars in the years to come!
