Episodes is located in the 17th arrondissement of Paris. was formerly known as OKA when chef Raphaël Rego worked there. Since his departure, chef Guillaume Goupil has taken over the reins, renaming the restaurant Episodes.
Having worked in some of the world's top establishments(Baudelaire at the Burgundy, La Scène at the Prince of Wales), the chef has surrounded himself with a Meilleur Ouvrier de France who was awarded the blue-white-red collar the same year as him: head waiter Yoann Gregory (ex-Yam'Tcha and La Dame de Pic).
Architect Arnaud Behzadi was responsible for decorating this multi-space venue, spread over two floors, with that little something extra that makes it unique. The 200m2 space houses not one, but two restaurants with distinctly different offerings, as well as two private rooms - one with 8 covers in the basement wine cellar, the other with 6 covers in a small, shimmering, intimate space.
Heads, Episodes, the gourmet , locavore restaurant that focuses on great French cuisine. Opposite, FOGO and its braise cuisine, with equal parts meat, fish, shellfish and vegetables. And in the middle of these two spaces, the kitchen is open on both sides, all transparent, like a link between the two restaurants.
While Fogo can be enjoyed at lunch and dinner, with its ember-hot dishes and fine grilled meats, Episodes can only be enjoyed at dinner, with a unique tasting menu for the whole table at 145€ for 5 courses and 95€ for food and wine pairings.
Another cornerstone of the restaurant is the wine cellar, with no less than 500 references of French wines from all terroirs, produced with absolute respect for the environment. Because that's what Episodes is all about: sustainable cuisine that respects people and the earth.
Now free from the Brazilian impulses of the late Oka, Episodes has refocused on generous, vibrant French cuisine. A convivial address, supported by meticulous service and thehonorable creativity of Guillaume Goupil and pastry chef Alexandre Lauret - who has worked in the kitchens of Mauro Colagreco and Guy Martin.
Take a look at the Episodes tasting menu as we visited. A very tasty experience.
