Are you looking for a nice restaurant with a smart and trendy atmosphere? Head to La Montgolfière to discover Rond, the coffee shop restaurant in open bar mode that serves you from morning to evening on weekdays and until 6pm on weekends.
On arrival, you are caught by the beautiful space. It is under a beautiful luminous glass roof that we settle down to have lunch or eat on the go. At the back, the counter faces us to order and everything is open. We order at the counter before going to settle on one of the tables of the place, even in a sofa with coffee table.
At first glance, Rond isa year of reflection and exchange with Phamily First, an absolute reference of the Parisian food scene, led by Julien Pham and Marie Coquebert (to whom we owe a series of addresses and innovative culinary events including the ephemeral table Tontine alongside Céline Pham), the menu was created by Marine Gora and Romain Tellier, the team of the restaurant Gramme.
Rond offers us a menu combining well-being and pleasure with Scandinavian accents, a whole program therefore. The young chef Lia Leguay unveils a 100% homemademenu , made with the best of local products and respecting a fair seasonality. We love for example the good soft buns from Mamiche and the excellent strong coffee selected by Ten belles .Note that this spot is open to the members of the club but also to their guests.
During our visit, we let ourselves be tempted by the gourmet and well-stocked garonla.
The sweet potato waffles filled with bresaola, egg and chard, let us devour.
The soft Bun Mamiche, with a spicy sauce, topped with fried egg, bacon and mimolette, is not to be missed.
Another specialty, the Smorebrod with a good taste of tapenade. Mimosa eggs, fennel and kohlrabi.
We finish with the dessert of the day or a cookie and you are at the top to continue the day.
Towards 5 pm, we pass in mode aperitif. The tapas take over. Pitas, hummus and plump burratas are part of the party along with terrines and country bread. Beans with lemon and zaatar can be eaten with a fork... All of this is accompanied by a fine list of natural wines.
