Baan PhadThai is known in Thailand for its pad thai, prepared according to a traditional recipe incorporating a secret sauce made from 18 ingredients. Since 2011, this restaurant has won over Thai food lovers with 13 openings in Asia and six Bib Gourmand awards from the Michelin Guide Bangkok. The restaurant has recently opened in the heart of Paris, in the 2nd arrondissement.
The menu at Baan PhadThai in Paris offers several variations on the famous pad thai. Options include grilled beef, grilled chicken, grilled tiger prawns, crabmeat and even roast duck. In addition to the signature pad thai, the menu includes traditional dishes such as Gaeng Massamun Tao Hoo (massaman curry) and Gaeng Khiaw Waan Kai (green curry with chicken).
As an appetizer or to share as a snack, you'll be seduced by the beef salad or the fried chicken, presented in its wicker cage.
A selection of typically Thai desserts and original drinks complete the menu. Note that dishes are prepared with ingredients imported directly from Thailand, to guarantee authenticity and quality.
The restaurant's interior has been designed to reflect the atmosphere of ancient Thai homes, with antique woodwork and works of art recounting Thailand's rich cultural history. In addition to the objects sourced in Thailand, the tableware has also been imported to recreate the most authentic ambience possible and immerse guests in the world of a traditional Thai home.
Pad Thai, actively promoted by the Thai government in the 1930s and 1940s as part of a nationalist campaign, has become a staple of Thai gastronomy. Baan PhadThai respects this tradition, producing a plate of "Sen Jan" rice noodles delicately prepared with perfect technique and quality ingredients.
In short, if you're in the mood for some good Pa Thai, why not opt for Baan PhadThai on rue Montmartre. The restaurant is open daily from 12pm to 10pm.
