The Journées du Patrimoine are back again in Paris and the Île-de-France region. This Europe-wide event is one of the highlights of the new cultural season. The concept? Over the course of a weekend, the most beautiful treasures of our heritage reveal their secrets through a program of visits, often free of charge, andoriginal events. Every year, a number of spots take part in this not-to-be-missed highlight. Museums, monuments, castles and even places off-limits to the public open their doors to us for exceptional discoveries.
For this year's Journées du Patrimoine, the Gare Saint-Lazare in Paris invites you to take a behind-the-scenes look on Saturday September 21 and Sunday September 22, 2024. The first station built in Paris, in 1937, and the capital's third largest in terms of rail traffic, Gare Saint-Lazare welcomes nearly 110 million passengers who use its corridors to access the metro and Transiliens trains. From the salle des pas-perdus to the boarding hall, not forgetting the facades and roofs, this Parisian station is distinguished by its remarkable architecture, which has been listed as a historic monument since 1984.
