Notice to fluffy pancake lovers! Paris has a new address that really deserves a visit. With its ultra-careful floral decor, Hanami Tea Time is the new unusual tea room in the center of the capital.
The journey begins outside, where you can watch Jimmy - who initiated the project - make the famous fluffy pancakes before your eyes. And the immersion continues inside. Our eyes are immediately attracted by the torii, the traditional Japanese gate, and then by a magnificent reproduction of a cherry tree in bloom created by the artist Sylvain Berst. The most observant will have fun looking for the artist's signature hidden somewhere on the work.
And the wonderment continues with flowers hanging everywhere in the tea room. The highlight of the show? The long corridor sublimated by hanging wisteria and a huge fresco created by Sylvain Berst. And the artist is not done with Hanami Tea Time, as he plans to unveil another work at the back of the establishment; a fresco that will change with the seasons.
With its ultra neat and Instagrammable decor, Hanami Tea Time plunges us in just a few seconds in the land of the Rising Sun, with this furious desire to settle down and take its time. That's exactly what we're going to do by savoring THE specialty of the place: the fluffy pancakes.
For those who don't know, we remind you that the fluffy pancakes are these puffed pancakes, originating from Japan. Thick, fluffy and ultra light at the same time, we add some toppings to them, like chocolate, caramel, pandan... everything is possible!
To begin with, Hanami Tea Time is betting on a short menu with only three proposals. But three recipes that Jimmy masters to perfection. We love the Fluffyculoos caramel (speculoos, whipped cream, homemade salted butter caramel). We also really liked the Fluffy Forêt rouge (whipped cream, red fruit coulis, raspberries, blueberries). For cocoa addicts, opt for the chocolate one with a whipped cream and a chocolate coulis.
To accompany these fluffy pancakes, Hanami Tea Time suggests some cold drinks, like the excellent and delicate Pink Blossom (whole milk, rose, violet). Another signature of the house? The very refreshing Sakura litchi (sparkling water, cherry blossoms, whole litchi).
For matcha lovers, try the matcha vanilla (whole milk, matcha vanilla) or the matcha rose. You can also find a cold tea with passion flavor or a cold tea with red fruits.
In the weeks and months to come, Hanami Tea Time will enrich its range with more fluffy pancakes, including one with matcha, and some savory recipes too. On the beverage side, hot drinks will soon be available on the menu. The icing on the cake, the tea room will unveil in the basement another part dedicated this time to brunch. Hanami Tea Time is likely to surprise us again!
Behind this new establishment, we find the very nice Léa and Jimmy. After a trip to Japan, during the sakura blossom season, the couple had the idea to bring this fresh wind to Paris. Their idea? To open a warm and comforting place, inviting to travel and to take one's time, by honoring the fluffy pancakes. Since October 22, 2022, it's done. Hanami Tea Time welcomes you for a moment of sweetness and greed from Tuesday to Sunday from 12pm to 7pm. Immersion guaranteed and successful!
