For those with a passion for cultural outings, this is one of the highlights not to be missed in September. The Journées du Patrimoine return on the weekend of September 21 and 22, 2024, for a 41st edition that promises to be full of wonderful discoveries. This Europe-wide cultural event invites us to take over museums, monuments, churches, institutions and even places that are usually closed to the public, such as ministries, to enjoy a hyper-vitamin program! With free visits, new events and other original surprises, it's a real treat for young and old alike!
There's no way the City of Light is going to pass up this opportunity to share with you the secrets of its finest treasures, as well as its lesser-known monuments. But while Paris is often the center of attention, the surrounding region has nothing to be ashamed of: theÎle-de-Franceregionabounds insurprising heritage gems that are well worth the detour. Florian-Baptiste Marle-Ouvrard, titular organist and international musician, presents an organ concert at Saint-Vincent-de-Paul church.
Come and discover the magnificent great organ at Saint-Vincent-de-Paul church. The instrument was built in 1899 by brothers John-Albert and Eugène ABBEY of Versailles, for display at the 1900 Paris World Fair. The case was designed by art nouveau architect Hector GUIMARD. The stops were composed by Camille Saint-Saëns. The instrument was awarded the Grand Prix for musical instruments. In 1984, the entire organ was listed as a Monument Historique.

Journées du Patrimoine 2024 at the SNCF Technicentre des lignes normandes in Clichy
Come and discover, or rediscover, a behind-the-scenes tour of an SNCF train maintenance center, combining history and the future, located in Clichy-La-Garenne, on the outskirts of Paris Saint-Lazare station. Guided by our agents, discover the Clichy site of the Technicentre des Lignes Normandes, this train maintenance center, usually inaccessible to the public, where trains operating between Paris Saint-Lazare and Normandy are repaired, maintained and cleaned.
You'll be able to explore the new maintenance workshop, due to come into service in May 2022, alongside the old facilities, which will be open to the public for the last time, before they come to an end at the end of 2024.
Together with members of the AAPSL Association, you'll also visit some of the old equipment (17016, the Association's postal carriages) and the very latest trainsets (OMNEO).
Estimated length of visit: 2 hours 30 minutes.
