The next step could be another lockdown. Even though November’s lockdown was not as strict as March’s, a third lockdown could be different. Among leads already considered by the government, there was, for instance, a weekend-based lockdown pairing week-based curfew. Whether lockdown is full or partial, it is still not known if the measure would be implemented first nationwide or regionwide.

More recently, the lead of a targeted lockdown - namely targeting people the most at risk - has been suggested again. Infectious disease specialist and member of the Covid-19 vaccine committee Odile Launey endorsed this method on BFMTV.

But now, it seems the leaad of a localwide lockdown in places where the health situation is the more complex is given pride of place. But this measure is taking several shapes. Therefore, general lockdown has been implemented in Mayotte in early February. In Alpes-Maritimes, the government leans towards partial lockdown, on weekends, along with curfew during the week. The Île-de-France area may be the next area a local new lockdown could be decided on.
