While we're in the middle of the school vacations and the parks are packed, some unexpected news has just surfaced... Carousels, symbols of childhood, could be in for a major makeover. A petition filed by thePETA association has been sent to one of the main ride manufacturers, calling for the removal of animal depictions from children's rides, in order to promote respect and compassion for living beings.

Children and their parents could soon be seeing radical changes on rides traditionally adorned with horses and other animals. PETA, known for its animal welfare activism, claims that these attractions convey a positive image of animal exploitation. The association argues that these representations reinforce the idea that animals are meant to entertain humans, obscuring their ability to feel fear, pain and joy.

Ingrid Newkirk, president of PETA, points out that children learn through play and that replacing animals with elements from the imagination could encourage an education based on respect for all living beings, according to information from marie france. Spaceship, bulldozer, shooting star - according to the association, there are an infinite number ofcreative alternatives to stimulate children's imagination.

Although this initiative has not yet led to a ban, PETA is continuing its fight to raise public awareness, particularly among children, of the importance of respecting all living beings.
