July 19, 1900, in the middle of the Bois de Boulogne, a dozen athletes are about to embark on a crazy race: the marathon of the 2nd modern Olympic Games. An event whose organization was so chaotic that it has fallen into near-complete oblivion. Yet there were other highlights of the 1900 Games: the entry of women into the Olympic Games, Etienne Jules Marey's scientific research into movement, and the relentless struggle of a multi-faceted figure: Pierre de Coubertin.
