It's been a long time since France won an Olympic archery title (since Jean-Charles Valladont's silver medal victory at the 2016 Rio Olympics). The French men's team has now done just that, taking second place on theEsplanade des Invalides on Monday July 29, 2024, beating the dreaded South Korean team to the silver medal!
It was a welcome victory for Jean-Charles Valladont (mentioned above), Thomas Chirault and Baptiste Addis, who came from behind to beat thetournament favourites 5-1. For the record, Baptiste Addis is the youngest athlete in the French delegation (17 years old), but despite his young age, he didn't let up against the South Koreans and, on the contrary, showed unfailing concentration, "thanks to his team", in his own words to France Télévisions.
It's been a great day for the French medallists, with no fewer than 6 new medals (one gold, four silver and one bronze) collected in just one day, at the time of writing. Congratulations Les Bleus, the Olympic madness continues!
