The Paris Olympic Games are in full swing! At the end of a mythical opening ceremony held not in a stadium but in the heart of the capital - a first in the history of the Olympics - the general public will have been able to discover the spectacular Olympic cauldron designed by Mathieu Lehanneur, which rises above the Tuileries.
Since then, it has been possible to admire the flame up close for the duration of the Olympic Games during the day, by reservation only. At nightfall, the flame levitates and flies over the famous Parisian garden at an altitude of around 60 meters, allowing Parisians of all ages to admire it from various vantage points in the capital from dusk until 2am.
However, this Tuesday, July 30, 2024, the hot-air balloon will not soar into the sky. "Due to unfavorable weather conditions, the Vasque will unfortunately not be taking off this evening," says the official booking website for the cauldron. So tonight, no need to look for it in the night, the Olympic cauldron will stay on the ground this time.
