Lady Gaga covering Zizi Jeanmaire's " Mon truc en plumes ", Gojira hanging from the Conciergerie, Aya Nakamura on the Pont des Arts surrounded by the Republican Guard or Céline Dion performing " L'hymne à l'amour " from the second floor of the Eiffel Tower.... On July 26, many highlights marked the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Now, many are wondering what's in store for the closing ceremony. In addition to the athletes' parade and the handover from Paris to Los Angeles, a major artistic show has been announced, once again orchestrated by director Thomas Jolly and his team.
While there are likely to be plenty of surprises this evening, we already know that the show will take place at the Stade de France on Sunday, August 11, 2024. It will feature dancers, acrobats and circus performers, as well as a number of artists, including the duo Air and the group Phoenix. Actor and stuntman Tom Cruise is also expected to join the cast.
But this closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will particularly spotlight a French dancer, breakdancer and contortionist. His name? Arthur Cadre. In the 8 o'clock news on France 2, it was announced that Arthur Cadre would even play the lead role. So, who is he?
Originally from Perros-Guirec in Brittany, Arthur Cadre is a multi-disciplinary artist. Both a dancer and a director, he is above all a former breakdancer. So you can imagine how proud he is to see breaking officially included in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. In fact, it was with this sporting discipline that the dancer launched himself when he was just 9 years old.
In 2007, he made his first television appearance at just 14 years of age on M6's hit show " La France à un incroyable talent ". In 2015, he repeated the experience and qualified for the final of the show broadcast on M6. In between, in 2011 to be precise, Arthur Cadre posted a video of his prowess on Youtube. The video went viral.
Today, Arthur Cadre is known for his innovative work and diverse techniques, including contemporary dance, hip-hop, contortion, acrobatics and magic. The artist, who is also a stage director, now travels the world presenting his various shows.
On his website, where we discover thatArthur Cadre is also a model, an architect and a photographer, we learn that he has performed on prestigious international stages such as the Arena in Verona, Atlanta Stadium and the Pasadena Theater in Los Angeles. Recently, he directed " Asayel ", an equestrian show featuring 25 horses and 40 dancers in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He also performed at the 2023 edition of the Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain.
Now, another big challenge awaits him: the closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics. On this subject, Arthur Cadre revealed on France 2 that there would be breakdancing, theater, circus and even the occasional bit of magic. " I mix a lot of different things," he told France 2's JT. The TV report also revealed that he would be suspended in mid-air. To discover this show, which promises to be grandiose, see you this Sunday, August 11, 2024!
