Embodied by dancer Arthur Cadre, the Golden Voyager captivated the crowds at the Olympic site, where theathletics and rugby sevens events took place, as well as thousands of television viewers from all over the world! Imagined by Thomas Jolly, artistic director of the opening and closing ceremonies, this intergalactic hero is a bold nod to our planet's identity card, the Voyager Golden Record, a golden disc that has been spinning through space for almost 50 years, aboard the Voyager 1 and 2 probes. As part of the show, and following Jolly's vision, the golden character lands on a ruined Earth, where he finds the vestiges of Olympism.

But what exactly does this interstellar object contain? The 30-centimeter-diameter disc is simply a concentrate of humanity: images, sounds of nature & animals, pieces by Mozart, Bach or even Chuck Berry, as well as some 50 languages that sound like a world symphony. Best of all, it's made of uranium 238, ready to defy time and space, as NASA claimed at the time.

The Golden Voyager, symbol of the Earth's memory, thrilled Paris 2024 to the very last note. A golden performance, for a cosmic finale!
