As a reminder, the medal table at the Olympic Games is a ranking based primarily on the number of gold medals won by each country. The country with the most gold medals is placed at the top of the table. If several countries have the same number of gold medals, the number of silver medals is used to break the tie. If there is also a tie in silver medals, the number of bronze medals is taken into account. If two countries have exactly the same number of medals in each category, they are ranked equally. In the Paris 2024 Games, France achieved a feat by creating a gap with Great Britain, which won 14 gold medals, and thus finished in 5th place.
