It had been 100 years since Paris hosted the Olympic Games, and to say the least, the capital made its mark by turning the Olympic Games on their head. As for the Paralympic Games... it's a first! And now, the party's back on in the Paris region with the second part of this iconic competition. The leading athletes in the world of disabled sport take their turn in the arena, against a backdrop of Parisian monuments. And before that, as tradition dictates, the Paralympic Flame is relayed from England to light up the Montgolfière cauldron in the Jardin des Tuileries.

And that's right, this Tuesday, August 27, 2024, the 12 Paralympic flames arrive in the Paris Region. And why 12? It's an echo of the number of days the competition will last. In Seine-et-Marne, the torchbearers will bring a festive breeze along their route, passing through two towns: Trilport and Fontainebleau. "The grand relay of the Paralympic flame will take place at the Noyerie sports center (without a street parade) from 9 to 11 a.m., with the participation of 15 torchbearers. Entertainment, initiations and food trucks will be available all day!

To ensure the smooth running of the event, traffic and parking will be prohibited in certain streets.
Vehicles remaining on the road will be impounded."

"From 12 noon: Opening of the site to the general public, where numerous events and parasport demonstrations will be on offer (wheelchair rugby, para golf, adapted horse riding...). Food stalls will also be available on site.
From 2.30pm to 3.30pm: Paralympic Torch Relay where 11 torchbearers are expected + 24 Paralympic athletes in a collective relay."
