It's true that Paris hasn't hosted the Olympics for a century... but the City of Light is also about to experience a first in its history: the hosting of the Paralympic Games. As we await the launch from the Place de la Concorde, and the relighting of the Vasque Olympique, the iconic hot-air balloon that will once again rise from the Jardin des Tuileries, we're warming up for the return of this great sporting celebration to the Paris region with the passing of the baton of the Paralympic Flame. Departing from England, 12 of them will cross France, each representing a day of competition.

On August 27, 2024, theÎle-de-France region was abuzz with excitement. On this day, the torchbearers travel through the various départements to the cheers of the public, who take the opportunity to attend festive events. In Essonne, only one town will host the passing of the Paralympic Flame: Grigny. Find out when and where it will take place!
The Paralympic flame is expected to arrive in Essonne at around 10-10.20am. It will pass through the Stade Jean Miaud, which opens to the public at 9am.
