Paralympic Games: who is Lucky Love, the performer of "My Ability" at the ceremony?

Chilly Gonzales, Chris (and the Queens), DJ Myd... This Wednesday, August 28, 2024, several artists took part in the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. After the athletes' parade, another artist made his presence felt on the ephemeral stage set up for the occasion on the Place de la Concorde. His name? Lucky Love. Surrounded by able-bodied and disabled dancers, the artist moved many of the spectators and TV viewers with a deeply touching performance imagined around the original composition entitled " My Ability " .

Real name Luc Bruyère, Lucky Love is due to release his debut album this autumn, and performed at the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud during the Rock en Seine festival on August 22.

Now 31, Lucky Love is a true jack-of-all-trades. A former student of the Cours Florent, Luc Bruyère made a minor appearance in Abdellatif Kechiche's"La Vie d'Adèle", as well as in two films by director Antony Hickling. He also starred alongside Joey Starr and Béatrice Dalle in the stage adaptation of Elephant Man, directed by David Bobée.

Luc Bruyère is also a dancer, trained by choreographer Carolyn Carlson, a performer at the famous Parisian cabaret Madame Arthur, a model, and an author, composer and performer, known under the pseudonym Lucky Love.

" Lucky Love is a fury for life, an intense journey cradled by extraordinary encounters and collaborations, from designer John Galliano to prima ballerina Marie-Agnès Gillot," say the organizers of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Born in 1993, without a left arm, Lucky Love created a buzz in 2023 following the release of his first EP,"Tendresse", marked by the single " Masculinity ".


This autumn, Lucky Love will unveil its first LP and hit the road in France to promote it, with a concert scheduled at Paris's Gaîté Lyrique on November 21, 2024.
