The Dolcevita sur Seine festival is back, this time at the Arènes de Lutèce, leaving the banks of the Seine for the Olympic Games! From July 12 to 16, 2024, this civic-minded, inclusive festival, under the banner of cinema, brings an Italian air to the capital, in honor of the twinning between the cities of Paris and Rome."Only Paris is worthy of Rome; only Rome is worthy of Paris"!
It's a sister event to the prestigious L'Isola del Cinema festival, held at the same time on Rome's Isola Tiberina. Right in the heart of the Latin Quarter, the Gallo-Roman amphitheatre becomes a large piazza, a festive and popular place for cinema, music, theater and photography. The 3rd edition of this open-air event will pay tribute to Marcello Mastroianni, with screenings of his cult films in restored versions by Cinecittà and in Paris Cinéma Club partner cinemas.
Also on the program: screenings of mythical peplums, a tribute to the venue, and the exhibition Hello, César! featuring some 30 photographs from the Archives of Rome's Cineteca Nazionale, as well as the discovery of new Italian cinema thanks to the "Italian Screens" program, several previews, and the Ristretto short-film competition, from two leading film schools: La Fémis in Paris and the Centro Sperimentale de Cinematografia in Rome.
And don't forget the Italia-Brasile 3 à 2 show by Davide Enia, in the great tradition of Italian storytelling theater, an unmissable Italian ball on July 13, and plenty to keep you entertained, with an ephemeral bar, Italian coffee tasting, deckchairs, pétanque and entertainment for children!
