Harry Potter fans who are waiting for Hogwarts Legacy, here is a video that will make you want to get the game on PS5... PlayStation has unveiled, through a blog post, a brand new trailer of the game signed by Warner Bros., Avalanche and Portkey Games, showing the specific features of the Dualsense controller associated with the software from the Wizarding World.
The idea? "Feel" the wand, thanks to the haptic feedback offered by the PS5 Dualsense controller, a real extension of your hand in the wizarding world. PlayStation also explains in its blog post that the adaptive triggers should give you"greater flexibility in combat" as you cast the various spells available in the game. Triggers that will give you the ability to feel the full power of your magic, whether it's basic spells or a particularly powerful spell. For example, the Protego spell, which will allow you to feel"the crackle of magic absorbed by the Shield charm".
Each spell has its own unique sensations, thanks to the haptic feedback, constituting a direct link between the controller and your wand. According to PlayStation, these effects will only affect the right side of the controller. But don't think that haptic feedback is limited to spells and wand use... Potions preparation, flying on a broom or hippogriff, all the sensations present in the game will be transmitted to your hands, via the controller.
As for the lighting of the Dualsense controller, a lot of work has also been done to immerse you a little more in this magical universe. The controller lights up with the colors of the spells you cast or undergo, but also with the colors of the house you have chosen to join at Hogwarts.
Note also that the game has been particularly designed for next-gen consoles, since on PS5, as PlayStation explains on its blog, you can browse the school and the wizarding world in 4K, but also choose the graphics modes Fidelity and Performance, allowing you to customize your experience by prioritizing the frame rate or visual fidelity.
On the audio side, the PS5 's 3D Tempest technology also gives you the ability to experience the game differently through sound. The crackling of chimney fires or flames when you cast the Incendio spell, the bubbling of potions, the beating of a hippogriff's wings... you'll feel everything, as if you were there.
