Attention Asterix and virtual reality fans! Virtual Room invites you to discover a VR experience that will take you back to childhood, Asterix Mission Potions, based around the famous Gaul, from September 7, 2024. We've tested it, and we'll tell you all about it!

When virtual reality meets the comic strip of our childhood! A few months ago, Virtual Room announced on its networks that, in partnership with Éditions Albert René, it was developing a new VR adventure based on the famous Gaul from the comics, Asterix! An experience entitled Asterix Mission Potions, available from September 7, 2024 in all the franchise's centers, including the one in Paris, in the heart of Bastille.

As for the experience itself, you'll have to face up to Roman legionaries as if you were in 50 BC, but also take part in a potion preparation course, take part in a forest gathering under high protection or escape from prison. And on the gampelay side, we hope to be able to drink magic potion and send the Romans packing, just like in the works of Goscinny and Uderzo.

Our opinion on Asterix Mission Potions:

An experience that the editorial team had the opportunity to try out. Once you've put on your headset, you're immediately immersed! You're plunged straight into the world so dear to the comics, in the heart of Getafix 's house for a little potion class. This is a great way to get to grips with the various movements you'll need to make in the game (bending down, picking up objects, etc.).

We'll leave you to discover the rest of the adventure... But you can be sure that there will be a moment of brawling, as the little Gallic village knows so well. Speaking of fighting, we particularly appreciate the variety of blows you can land: slaps, punches, fists to the head to drive Romans into the ground... You can even grab an opponent by the collar and slap him, as Obelix does so well in the comics. It's very complete and well thought-out.

Another very good point is the numerous references to the comics scattered throughout, but above all the humor so dear to the universe, which is found here intact (listen carefully to the bard, you're going to have a good laugh...). It's fresh, punchy and will appeal to children and parents alike.

In terms of gameplay, it's very accessible and instinctive. The idea is to allow both children and parents to have fun, as the experience has been designed with families in mind... And it works! But don't think that the puzzles to be solved are too easy... Far from it: they're challenging enough for parents, without leaving children out in the cold.

What about the graphics? It's rather pretty, the art direction having chosen to be as close as possible to the 3D animation, which is particularly successful. You'd think you were in an animated series... And it really works! In short, so many beautiful things that should make for a memorable experience. A true love letter to the world of comics, to be shared with your children without moderation!

Are you ready to take on the role of Asterix, Obelix and their friends, and awaken your inner Gaul? You can also enjoy other adventures already available from Virtual Room, such as Are We Dead? or Press Start. Shall we book a session, folks?
