In the spring of 2024, EA offered players the chance to try out new challenges: ephemeral events, available with the base game, allowing us to win additional free items. This first challenge consisted in launching The Sims 4 every day for a week, offering new colors for the mini-fridge, a small bar, a necklace, a new hairstyle... each time you logged on.
This autumn 2024, a new challenge awaits players. From September 24 to the end of October 2024, the"Rewards of the Grim Reaper" event will bring its share of surprises and gifts. To obtain these rewards, you'll need to log into your game each week, and complete certain quests. These are all accessible and achievable from the base game only . However, some DLC, such as the Paranormal Item Kit, allows access to additional tasks.
In concrete terms, this challenge allows us to learn more about certain little-known gameplay elements surrounding the Grim Reaper. The first quests involve learning aboutambrosia, a special dish that can resurrect Sims. But before you get there, you'll need to talk to other Sims, learn to cook and garden, do some research on the Internet... The quests are straightforward, and offer nice rewards without being totally exceptional. The challenge is spread over six weeks, with each week bringing its own set of actions to complete and gifts to collect. In less than an hour, it's possible to collect all the week's rewards, provided your Sims is not totally devoid of skills.
Without being revolutionary, this challenge provides an enjoyable gameplay experience that's a welcome change from the daily grind. The rewards should appeal to players who enjoy supernatural packs or gothic style, and the quests allow us to reveal some often overlooked gameplay elements.
This new challenge plunges us into a playful and mysterious atmosphere, which should keep theHalloween spirit alive throughout the autumn season. The Grim Reaper is at the heart of these challenges, and she's also at the heart of the next expansion pack, announced this September 5, 2024. These next few months should therefore be very special for this iconic character of The Sims license.
