The Sims 4, ephemeral events and free items: what new features have been announced?

You may have seen some intriguing pop-up news on the game's home screen, on social networks or on The Sims website... Ephemeral events are starting this May 30, 2024 in The Sims 4, and they may allow you to win some free items or content. Fact or fiction?

Good news: you'll be able to get free content, thanks to this new summer feature. A new system has been set up for your game (make sure all updates are in place to take advantage of it): time-limited events will be offered to players, allowing us to win building items, Sims accessories and even gameplay elements.

These ephemeral events take the form of challenges to be completed, in order to obtain the rewards. The first experience invites you to log on every day (or almost every day) for a month, in order to collect your gift.

Here is the list of rewards to be obtained during this limited-time event:

Week 1: the dartboard, the Night Sky necklace, the mini-refrigerator and the wooden Nanopoubelle.

Week 2: the compact bar and women's hairstyling

Week 3: The decorative cushion and the original character trait "Practice makes perfect".

Week 4: casual sportswear and a snack dispenser

In concrete terms, this first event takes the form of a pop-up, which should appear on the Sims 4 home screen ( not on the EA platform, but in the game when it's launched). This pop-up tells you where to click to receive the day's reward, and the time at which the next one will be unlocked.

The Sims 4 team promises that more events are planned, to bring a little novelty to your game. Each experience will be centered around a specific theme, often linked to the current Season (we're not talking about the weather here, but the overall theme linking all the DLC to be released over the coming months, such as the Season of Love, the Nightlife Season, the Take the Reins Season...). Certain events may also be linked to holidays or special occasions during the year.
