Change for Fortnite! Epic Games has announced in a blog post an increase in the price of its standard Battle Pass. From December 1, 2024, the cost will rise from 950 to 1,000 V-Bucks, an increase of 50 V-Bucks. This decision, a first since the game's launch, comes on the eve of the nostalgic return of the Fortnite OG: Chapter 1 - Season 1 experience, scheduled for December 6. The studio promises, however, that the real value of its digital currency, V-Bucks, will remain unchanged.
Epic Games has also detailed other changes to its offer. While the price of the 25-level Fighting Pass rewards pack drops slightly, from 1,850 to 1,800 V-Bucks, the Fortnite Club offer is enriched. Starting in December, this package will include new perks, such as Music Pass and LEGO Pass, at no extra cost to subscribers. However, new subscribers after December 1 will no longer be able to retain premium pass rewards after their subscription has been terminated.
These adjustments mark a strategic turning point for Epic Games, which seems intent on maximizing player engagement in its ecosystem. In addition to the new Club Fortnite features, the simultaneous progression of battle passes between Fortnite and the publisher's other games could encourage more players to subscribe.
