Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche and Maison Tajan are teaming up for an unprecedented auction dedicated to tableware, to be held on June 15, 2023 in the restaurant La Table. Spearheaded by Gilbert Kann, advisor and curator of 20th-century decorative arts furniture, the event will highlight nearly a hundred pieces of tableware and decorative arts, from the 19th century to the present day. Thefree exhibition of lots will be held from June 9 to 15, 2023 at the Grande Épicerie de Paris, offering visitors the opportunity to discover these treasures before their sale.
For the second edition of its auction, the Grand Magasin is inviting the curious, whether connoisseurs in the field or not, to come and admire these emblematic ultra-deco objects. Thepre-sale exhibition unveils nearly 120 exceptional pieces, carefully selected by Marie-Cécile Michel, director of the 20th-century decorative arts and design department at Tajan.
Among the outstanding lots are sets of Baccarat glasses,Christofle and Puiforcatsilverware, and the Oursinade table by Atelier Marthe. The prototypes of a dinner service created for the Élysée Palace in 1991 will also be presented. These unique plates, entirely hand-painted, represent a veritable treasure trove.
In addition to these exceptional pieces, the sale will feature items from the famous Maisons Hermès and Christian Dior, as well as limited-edition contemporary creations.
The Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche x Maison Tajan collaboration promises a unique experience for tableware enthusiasts, combining tradition and creativity in an elegant setting.
