Discover the cultures and dances of Africa and the Caribbean with konpa, gouyad and kizomba on Saturday, September 14. It's an opportunity to meet new people, step out of your comfort zone and, above all, learn to dance if you're a beginner!

Paris, the city, is all in one: Americans live here year-round, as do the English, and European students of all nationalities (the Spanish hostel), as well as students from all over the world and from Africa.

Meeting new people is great, but discovering and even learning about the cultures of other lands is enriching, and this event is for you.

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 14, 2024, head to Studio Bleufor an afternoon of dancing to learn KONPA, GOUYAD and KIZOMBA.

A LITTLE HISTORY: Konpa or kompa or compas direk is 70 years old, and is made up of several styles, the latest of which, known as gouyad, appeals more to young people and is reminiscent of the hot, long-lasting Latin rhythms of the Caribbean.

No level required for participants. If you already dance, that's fine, but it's not necessary. Alone, as a couple, with a group of friends, come and meet people (friends or future dance/outing buddies), have a good time, make connections, in a simple moment without bling bling or "matuvue".
