This summer, the Stade de France will welcome a bunch of talented international artists. From Depeche Mode to Rammstein through Muse and BLACKPINK... The stadium of Seine-Saint-Denis is going to make the beautiful part to all the musical styles. We do not forget The Weeknd! The Canadian artist announces his comeback in Paris with not one, but two concerts scheduled on July 29 and 30, 2023 at the Stade de France.
On this occasion, The Weeknd invites two opening acts, just to raise the temperature before the arrival of the North American star on stage. So who are they? What are the two opening acts of The Weeknd announced this summer at the Stade de France?
We start with Kaytranada. His real name is Louis Kevin Celestin, Kaytranada is an artist born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and based in Montreal, Canada. Both electronic musician, producer and DJ, Kaytranada is very well known in Quebec, especially thanks to his style mixing hip-hop, funk and house.
As a proof of his fame, Kaytranada won the Polaris Prize for his first studio album named"99.9%" in 2016. He has also been nominated for multiple Juno Awards and Grammy Awards. In 2021, the artist actually won the Grammy for"Best Dance Recording" for"10%" as well as the Grammy for"Album - Dance/Electronic" for"Bubba".
This summer, Kaytranada intends to make the audience of the Stade de France dance in the opening of The Weeknd!
Another artist scheduled to open for The Weeknd in Paris? Mike Dean. In the saddle for over 30 years now, Mike Dean is known as an American producer and musician.
Considered one of the pioneers of the Dirty South rap movement in the 1990s, he has worked with many big names, such as 2Pac, Tha Dogg Pound, Luniz, Justin Bieber, Kid Cudi and Jay-Z. Yes, you may not know Mike Dean by name, but you've probably already heard one of the sounds produced, mixed or mastered by this incredible producer!
Mike Dean has also been a regular guitarist and keyboardist for Kanye West and has headlined many music festivals. Recently, the artist released the opus"4:20".
