Hellfest 2023: The Sanctuary, moving the Valley stage... here are this year's novelties

Pantera, Iron Maiden, Kiss, Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, Slipknot, Behemoth, Amon Amarth, Sum 41, Rancid, Katatonia, The HU... once again, heavy metal, thrash metal, doom metal, black metal, progressive metal, punk or hard rock bands will be numerous to parade in Clisson this summer for the new edition of Hellfest.

After having celebrated its 15th anniversary last year with a double edition, Hellfest is back with four new musical days not to be missed on Thursday 15, Friday 16, Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 June 2023. For the occasion, Hellfest has several new features in store for festival-goers. It is on its social networks, on April 14, that the French extreme music festival has unveiled the site plan for its 2023 edition.

We discover that the Valley stage, dedicated to doom metal, stoner rock, sludge metal and post-metal, is moving! This summer, this famous stage, until now covered and located next to the Temple stage, will move to the open air just in front of the Warzone, " all on an area of one hectare, allowing to gain space and comfort on the whole site ," says the festival on social networks.

On this occasion, Hellfest will offer " new elements of decoration ", including the"Wheel of Charon". Designed by the American artist Peter Hudson during the Burning Man festival in 2011, this monumental installation is likely to surprise the eyes of festivalgoers! On this new space, Hellfest will also unveil a new bar and food stands.

Another new feature of Hellfest in 2023? The Sanctuary, the festival's new merchandising space to be discovered on the former site of the Valley stage. Described as " the largest ephemeral store in Europe ", The Sanctuary will have a " structure built to measure for the festival ". This will put a smile on the faces of the many festival-goers who have made a habit of leaving with one or more souvenirs bearing the effigy of the festival.

Another change? The installation of a cocktail bar and a juice bar in place of the old merchandising areas.

Finally, for bicycle enthusiasts, Hellfest is expanding its bicycle parking lot, with the added bonus of installing a repair shop in case of problems with your two wheels!
