And it's none other than Pixies, whose hits include "Where Is My Mind", "Here Comes Your Man" and "Monkey Gone to Heaven", who will have the honor of performing on the Cascade stage on Sunday evening.

On Friday July 12, Rock en Seine festival-goers learned of the cancellation of The Smile. Scheduled for Sunday August 25, the last day of the festival, the English rock band featuring Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood will not be able to perform for medical reasons.

"We regret to announce the cancellation of The Smile concert for medical reasons, which was scheduled for Sunday August 25. Due to a health concern affecting Jonny Greenwood, the band's team has informed us of the cancellation of the next concerts on their summer tour, including the one at Rock en Seine. We all wish Jonny Greenwood a speedy recovery!" wrote Rock en Seine organizers on their social networks.

Many festival-goers made no secret of their disappointment, eager to know which band would replace The Smile on Sunday evening. And the organizers were quick to respond. Just three hours after announcing the cancellation, Rock en Seine announced that Pixies would be joining the line-up for the new edition!

"No time to rest! After the bad news, here's the good news: following the cancellation of The Smile for health reasons, the legendary band PIXIES are joining the line-up on the Cascade stage on Sunday August 25 as a replacement!" announced the organizers. The Pixies concert at Rock en Seine will mark the legendary band's reunion with the Paris region festival, following a first appearance in 2005 at the Domaine national de Saint-Cloud.

Pixies were responsible for a host of hits in the late '80s and early '90s. These include"Where Is My Mind","Here Comes Your Man","Monkey Gone to Heaven", "Hey","Debaser","Gouge Away" and"Gigantic".

Still led by the impressive Black Francis, the American rock band has 8 studio albums to its credit, the latest of which is entitled"Doggerel". During this special tour, the band took the opportunity to perform their two famous records,"Bossanova" (1990) and"Trompe Le Monde" (1991).
